USING THE APP (GENERAL QUESTIONS)

How do I copy my Radbonus ID?

Select settings (upper left corner). On top you can find your Radbonus ID. If you select “remember”, the app will show you multiple options where you can copy your ID to. The best option would be saving it in your “Notes” or in your clipboard, if you want to insert the ID somewhere else.

Can I participate in a bonus draw from outside of Germany?

Absolutely! Anyone can participate in all of the public challenges.

What is an access code?

Companies, cities or other partners can initiate exclusive challenges, which can only be entered by users, that have a special access code. You can enter the code in the settings menu in the upper left corner below your Radbonus-ID. In your challenge menu you will then be able to see challenges that are open to everyone and the exclusive offers.

I have a new phone. Can I transfer my previous ID?

Each time you install or reinstall the app, a new anonymous Radbonus ID is generated. If you are using a new phone or have reinstalled the app, your data has to be transferred from your old ID to the new one. Send us both your old and new Radbonus-ID via mail. This way we can accredit the kilometres you have cycled to your new ID. This way you don’t lose any collected kilometres on your hunt for bonuses.

You cannot find your old ID? Send us an e-mail anyways and we will try to figure out a solution!

KILOMETRES CYCLED

Will my kilometres be deleted at the end of the year?

No, the kilometres will never be deleted. Kilometres only “disappear” if you redeem them for a discount in an e-shop. This does not affect the kilometre count for the challenges.

At this time, only the kilometres of the current year are shown in the app. With the next update there will be complete statistics.

Why is the recording of my ride canceled?

If you don’t move for 60 minutes, the recording will be stopped automatically. The distance traveled so far will be accredited to the ID. This allows us to save your battery.

If the recording unexpectedly stops, please report the error to us.

Some rides are not recorded by the app. Why is that?

Technical problems are often very individual. The causes vary from phone to phone.

Therefore, it would be great if you send us an e-mail. We’ll check what’s wrong as soon as possible and try to fix it.

Can I also collect kilometres by car or train?

No. Radbonus is only there to reward you for cycling.

Beyond common sense, the Radbonus App includes an algorithm that filters out certain parameters when a ride has conspicuous signs of fraud, especially rides with a forbidden mode of transportation. In this case, the tracking of the kilometres is blocked.

An unusual style of cycling may trigger a negative reaction from this algorithm.

If that happens, we ask you for a brief description of the problem via e-mail.

How “accurate” are the recorded routes?

We strive for the highest possible accuracy of the rides, but it cannot be guaranteed.

Depending on the device and available services, the location services use a combination of mobile-, WLAN-, bluetooth- and GPS-data to determine positions. If there is no direct connection to a GPS satellite, a device can determine the position from the location of WLAN hotspots and cell towers (crowdsourcing). But it can possibly happen that some kilometres are lost, because there is a chance of us not getting a sufficiently good signal.

My kilometres disappeared. Why is that?

How is it assured that I really travelled the route by bike and not by car?

I have a new phone. Can I transfer my old ID?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer the old ID on a new phone. But that’s not an issue. If you tell us your new and old ID, we can transfer the kilometres you had collected with your old ID.

TECHNICAL MATTERS

Does Radbonus work in the background while I cycle?

Yes, once you press “start” you are able to switch to other applications or lock your screen. The app will continue working in the background.

Can I synchronise Radbonus with an activity tracker or other health apps? Can I also collect kilometres using another tracking app?

So far we have established the cooperation with iHealth, which will be available in April 2018. Now we are working on cooperating with other apps and devices.

I have a new smartphone. Can I use my old ID?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer an old ID to a new device. But that is not a problem. If you tell us your new ID we can accredit the kilometres you had cycled using your old one to the new device. After that you can keep using the app as usual.

What should I do if something went wrong?

If you are experiencing problems, please let us know at Problem melden. We will try to fix it as soon as possible.

Why is the record of my trip cancelled?

If you don’t move for 60 minutes, the recording automatically stops. This allows us to save your battery in case you had something else to do after you arrived.

What does the app access on my smartphone?

Radbonus calculates the kilometres cycles based on the positioning services and motion sensors of your smartphone. For this purpose, the location services should be activated and Radbonus should be granted the permission to use the location-related data. The application calculates the distance only when manually triggered (by pressing “Start”). Additionally, the app records time and date. Outside of the activity period the app does not collect any data.

My app won’t launch anymore. What can be the reason?

Technical problems are often very individual. The causes vary greatly from phone to phone.

That’s why it would be great if you filled in a bug report at Fehlerbericht. We’ll check what’s wrong as soon as possible and try to fix it.

BONUSES

What kind of e-mail should I use in the Typeform?

You should enter an e-mail that you check for updates quite often. We do not mind if you enter your main e-mail or one of many accounts. You can use a different one each time. The address is used solely for the purpose of contacting the winners. They will not be saved after a winner is drafted. They will not be used for any other purpose than the one stated above.

Why does it say “send code” below the discount?

With the “send code” button you copy the discount code, which you can enter on our partners’ website, of whom you have received the discount.

Can I use the “Fahrrad.de” discount code on “Bikester.es” as well?

Unfortunately, the voucher for fahrrad.de is valid for the german online-shop only.

Where can I see what bonuses I recieved?

Generally, you only get the vouchers displayed in the Radbonus-App which you can redeem directly with your kilometre count. If you want to know what else is possible, all bonuses are listed on the >Rabattseite<. The bonuses are based on the terms and conditions of the partners. If you are underaged, check if you are eligible for the bonuses.

Will I be rewarded with a higher discount the more kilometres I cycle?

Our partners themselves can choose the discounts for kilometres cycled, so it’s very individual.

So far there is no partner I’m interested in. Will you be offering more partners in the near future?

We try to choose our partners in such a way that also fits our concept. That’s why most of the partners are in a sporty manner. We are constantly in the process of getting new partners on board. That’s why it pays off to check the app regularly.

CHALLENGES

Why do I have to enter all the data every time I register for a draw?

This happens due to the fact that we don’t store our users’ personal data. Therefore, we need your information in order to assign you with your user ID when you enter the draw. From april 2018 on iPhone users can store their personal information within the app, so they don’t have to enter it manually every time.

Am I automatically assigned for the challenges or do I have to register?

In order to enter the draw, all you need to do is to earn the specified number of kilometres within the time limit specific to each challenge. After having cycled enough, the completed challenge will appear in “Bonuses”, from where you can join the draw by pressing the big button. Having done all the above, you get a chance to win the draw.

Why does a challenge not appear for me?

If a challenge does not appear, please check your internet connection. If there is no internet connection, challenges might not be visible.

Please check the “Bonuses” as you might have already completed the challenge and it has been moved there.

If it is still not displayed, please try restarting the app.

If nothing we mentioned helps, it might be caused by a technical problem. In this case please send us a message using this form: Meldung an Radbonus. We will try to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Don’t worry, the kilometres you cycle are still counted. If you managed to cover a required distance within the time limit, you will automatically take part in the draw.

I won. Why doesn’t my reward arrive?

Since we don’t collect any contact information preliminarily, we ask the winners of the challenge to provide us with their contact information. As it might take a while, the receiving of the reward might be delayed.

What happens when I complete the challenge?

When you complete the challenge, it is moved to the “Bonuses” where you should click the big button and fill in your complete contact information in order to receive the fixed bonus or participate in the draw. The winner will be determined from all people registered.

If you win, we will get in touch with you through the app or via e-mail.

OTHER

Is there a Windows version of the Radbonus App?

Not yet. Right now we are focused on distribution through iOS Appstore and Google PlayStore.

Is it possible to synchronise the Radbonus App and Strava?

We receive this question quite often. It is on the list of requests now. You can affect the features being added through : Wunschliste.

Some routes are not recorded by the app. Why is that?
